Who We Are

Our Background

The Michigan Real Estate Club (MREC) is one of the oldest and most distinguished clubs on campus with a rich 30+ year history rooted in innovation and excellence.  Since its founding, MREC has worked to empower ambitious students interested in pursuing a career in real estate.  Over the years, the Club has strived to facilitate meaningful relationships between student members and alumni, none more exemplary than the introduction of Stephen Ross to Jeff Blau by Professor Peter Allen at the first Real Estate Forum 30+ years ago.

Despite being an official club at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, the Club has and will always be open to all students, both undergraduate and graduate, from all UM schools such as the Taubman School of Urban Planning & Architecture, the Law School, the Ford School of Public Policy, LS&A, and more.

The Real Estate Club strives to grow every year - in members, alumni network, resources, visibility, and opportunities.

Our Goal

The ultimate goal of MREC is to provide educational and professional development opportunities for Michigan students interested in a career in real estate.

As we look to the future, the Club has several missions. The Club hopes to improve the visibility of Michigan’s large real estate network, and implement programs that facilitate connections for both students and alumni within this network. The Club also aims to enhance member education, especially through the integration of additional action-based learning opportunities and collaboration with alumni in the industry.

Lastly, the Club wants to work with Ross administration, student members, alumni, and other stakeholders to expand Michigan’s real estate program into becoming the most comprehensive and robust program in the country.
