Who We Are

Our Story

The Michigan Real Estate Club (MREC) is one of the oldest and most distinguished clubs on campus. Since its founding over 30 years ago, MREC has empowered ambitious students pursuing a career in real estate. The Club strives to facilitate meaningful relationships between student members and alumni, none more exemplary than Professor Peter Allen's introduction of Stephen Ross to Jeff Blau at the first Real Estate Forum over 30 years ago.

Even though MREC is an official club at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, it is open to all students, both undergraduate and graduate, from all UM schools, such as the Taubman School of Urban Planning & Architecture, the Law School, the Ford School of Public Policy, LS&A, and more.

The Real Estate Club strives to grow every year in members, alumni network, resources, visibility, and opportunities.

Our Mission

At MREC, we are driven to provide educational and professional development opportunities for all Michigan students interested in a career in real estate.

As we look to the future, the Club has several missions. We hope to improve the visibility of Michigan’s large real estate network and implement programs that facilitate connections for students and alumni within this network. We also aim to enhance member education, especially by integrating additional action-based learning opportunities and collaboration with alumni in the industry.

The Club wants to work with Ross administration, student members, alumni, and other stakeholders to expand Michigan’s real estate program into becoming the most comprehensive and robust program in the country.
